Kathy portrait with guitar - vignetted
Captivating audiences in the Boulder/Denver area with her pop/folk sometimes jazzy kind of sound, Kathy is happily being compared to some of her favorite songwriters: Joni Mitchell, Jonatha Brooke, Shawn Colvin. Dubbed a “master lyricist” by musical playwright Judylynn Schmidt, (The Awakening of Angel DeLuna), Kathy’s muse weaves the mundane with the metaphysical to form a truly uplifting tapestry of sound and images, encouraging us to: dream big, be unique, love deeply, live gratefully, forgive wholeheartedly, in short: reminding us of all the things worth remembering.

“Kathy Nelson’s music is a beautiful example of the power of positive music to inspire and uplift.”
- Tom Avena/New Consciousness Radio says:

Kathy’s songwriting hobby turned career pursuit in 2002 when she entered a national songwriting competition and was named a top ten finalist (2 yrs in a row) and was invited to perform at the Wildflower Music Festival in TX. Shortly after, Kathy released her debut CD, Dream and recently finished her 2nd CD titled, Breathe. Kathy has also been a finalist in Boulder’s Folk Awards and Denver’s Swallow Hill Songwriter’s Competition. Her lyrics have been published in Mystic Pop Magazine. Her song, I Am Here, will be featured in a prime time TV documentary, Dying To Live, in Australia . Her youtube music videos, All Is Given and I Am Here continue to receive a 5 star rating with rave reviews and over 53,000 views. Other career highlights include opening for best selling authors and speakers, Dannion Brinkley (Save By The Light) and Terry Cole-Whitaker (What You Think of Me Is None of My Business) and international channeler Geoffry Hoppe.
